KREMNICKÁ MINCOVŇA NA STRÁNKACH DOBOVEJ TLAČE V OBDOBÍ ROKOV 1938/1945

Volentier, Lukáš
In: Motus in verbo, roč. VIII, 2019, č. 1, s. 7 - 14. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

The Kremnica mint belongs to the world's unique ones that need to be presented. Even a relatively short period of the Slovak state has brought a lot of interesting insights into the history of the company. The period in question arose only at the outside of an independent state. Germany ran everything from industry to functioning in the country. It was also the case in the Kremnica mint, but the state and Germany oversaw the processing of such expensive metal and coinage.Besides these things the company produced badges, medals and buttons. The post-1943 period was a difficult period for the company to produce raw materials for production. The mint, thanks to the SNU, managed to survive this difficult period and thanks to many interventions helped the insurgents. The period after the suppression of the SNU meant for the mercenary occupation a subsequent expulsion and the destruction of what could not be taken away. After the liberated lands by the Soviet army, a gradual renewal of the business and the launch of new coins came about. It is to the detriment that the reference of the Kremnicke mint, written since 1328, has been in the last time akosy is shuffling from people's awareness.

VPLYV FRANCÚZSKEJ MÓDY NA MÓDNE ZNAČKY V ČESKOSLOVENSKU

Kubalová, Benedikta - Pecníková, Jana
In: Motus in verbo, roč. VIII, 2019, č. 1, s. 15 - 21. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

Fashion stands on the periphery of intellectual interest, it is considered a fleeting phenomenon of modern society. The concept of fashion is much wider than just the definition of the latest fashion wave. Fashion involves a direct reaction to trends, company development and contemporary culture. The development and impact of fashion brands depends on the cultural and social factors in which the brands are located. The aim of this contribution is to answer questions related to the social and cultural role of this phenomenon. The socio-cultural aspect of trademarks is analyzed in the example of brands used in the fashion industry in contrast to two communities – France and Czechoslovakia in the 20th century. The paper analyzes the impact of French fashion brands in Czechoslovakia.

PSEUDONIMI E IDENTITÀ: IL CASO DI CLAUDE CAHUN

Calanni Rindina, Desiré
In: Motus in verbo, roč. VIII, 2019, č. 1, s. 22 - 31. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

The present article focuses on the analysis of the role of pseudonyms in the life and works of the french artist Claude Cahun. The authorial and individual existence of this versatile representative of the surrealist movement seems to be characterized by the refuse of labels and definitions. Taking this rejection as a starting point, the article will explore the underlying reasons that led Cahun to refuse her birth name and use pseudonyms instead. In particular, it will propose a short analysis of Cahun's choice of the neutral name (Claude)/jewish surname (Cahun), and their implications as far as the struggle for individual definition is concerned, with a particular focus on the concepts of gender, class, family and religion.

K NIEKTORÝM CHARAKTERISTICKÝM PRVKOM LEXIKY SOCIALISTICKÉHO JAZYKA – NA PRÍKLADOCH ZO SLOVENSKEJ STRANÍCKEJ TLAČE V ROKU 1968

Molnárová, Patrícia
In: Motus in verbo, roč. VIII, 2019, č. 1, s. 40 - 51. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to characterize some of the typical aspects that are present in the language of socialism in Czechoslovakia (1948 – 1989). Language used during this period is different with regard to present lexicology or stylistics. The main influential factor was the presence of the political/communist/socialist ideology in a press. In lexicon it may be seen in different forms such as repeating of words, changes in semantics, using and manipulating of positive and negative meaning of words, creating antonyms with political lexeme and so on. The issue was researched using editorials from political newspaper Pravda in 1968 and literature which is cited below the text. The language of socialism was different from the language in the press nowadays. Analysed linguistics aspects were gathered and used to present one of the ways how the political ideology of the communist party in Czechoslovakia manipulated the masses through the media. However, they represent just a small piece of socialist language which was a dynamic part in a development of society in this time period.

LITERÁRNE DIELO LEONIDA ANDREJEVA V KOTEXTE NEMECKEJ VOLUNTARISTICKEJ FILOZOFIE

Dúbravská, Natália
In: Motus in verbo, roč. VIII, 2019, č. 1, s. 52 - 63. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

Proposed paper focuses on the aspect of German voluntarism and its implications in the prose of Russian modernist writer Leonid Andreyev. Author of the paper explores the main ideas behind the German system of thought in the works of Arthur Schopenhauer and confronts them with Andreyev's literary writings. The author emphasizes the concept of metaphysical ‘will’ as an underlying principle of voluntaristic philosophy and uses it as a reference point in the analysis of the writer's prose. The paper attempts to define the purpose of ‘will’ in the life of Andreyev's characters and to demonstrate its oppressive nature in relation to the notion of human freedom and self-fulfilment.

GEMMA BOVERY: DAL GRAPHIC NOVEL ALL’ADATTAMENTO CINEMATOGRAFICO FRANCESE

Finocchiaro, Marilisa
In: Motus in verbo, roč. VIII, 2019, č. 1, s. 64 - 75. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

This paper comes out of the will to go beyond inter-linguistic translation and, instead, to dwell on the inter-semiotic, which allows the passage from a literary work to its cinematographic adaptation. In this case, my study starts from the graphic novel, Gemma Bovery, written by the British authoress Posy Simmonds, and arrives at the homonymous French film directed by Anne Fontaine and screened at cinemas in 2014. In particular, I go into the graphic novel and the film, touching on Flaubert’s novel. Indeed, the title of the graphic novel echoes that of the famous work of the French writer, Madame Bovary – dear to the authoress – and by which it is inspired. My analysis starts by reading Simmonds' graphic novel and Flaubert's novel and continues with the vision of the French film Gemma Bovery, in order to well understand each work and to compare them.In other words, the aim of my paper is to show an outline of the analogies and the differences between these three works, concerning the events, the setting and, especially, the characters.

“JUSTE LA FIN DU MONDE”: UN CASO STUDIO DI TRADUZIONE INTERSEMIOTICA

Bivona, Antonietta
In: Motus in verbo, roč. VIII, 2019, č. 1, s. 76 - 87. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

This work aims to look at certain aspects involved in the translation process, from a linguistic as well as an intercultural and inter-semiotic point of view. Starting from the inter-semiotic translation concept theorized by Roman Jakobson, we will analyse the film adaptation of a pi.ce, written in 1990 by Jean-Luc Lagarce and filmed in 2016 by Xavier Dolan, in order to highlight the process of resemantization and multiplication of meaning involved in the transition from the page to the screen. After some theoretical information, through a semiotic analysis and a continuous comparison between written and visual text, we will try to highlight some of the film adaptation's mechanisms with a particular focus on thematic and figurative isotopies and on the filmmaker's plastic and stylistic choices.

FOLIA GLAGOLITICA ZEMPLINIENSIA (KYJEVSKÉ LISTY A NÁREČIE NA UŽSKO-ZEMPLÍNSKOM POMEDZÍ)

Nemčeková, Jana
In: Motus in verbo, roč. VIII, 2019, č. 1, s. 89 - 91. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

The sixth book by the scholar of the Slavic and Slovakian culture Martin Pukanc, titled Folia Glagolitica Zempliniensia, deals with the search for the origin of the oldest continual document – the Kiev Letters. The Kiev letters did not pass through the Bulgarian-Macedonian cultural background, and therefore the Old Slavic vernacular of the Hlaholic prayers does not have to be an editorial of the classical Old Slavic. The Hlaholic prayers have both Western Slavonic and South Slavonic features, which are also typical for the Old-slavic vernacular predecessor of the Užhorod-sotac dialects in the Užhorod-zeplín region, the archaic eastern edge of the eastern Slovak language territory, in a publication referred to as the eastern Obodritčina, while the work of the Eastern Obodrits is connected with the territory of the Užhorod principality, on which there was the dominant Great Moravian castle Zemplín to be found. Based on its existence and according to the other analysed elements of the language of the Kiev letters, M. Pukanec gives this Hlaholic prayer the name “Zemplín hlaholic letters”.
