SMITHOVA TEÓRIA VEREJNÉHO ZÁUJMU

Ivanovič, David
In: Motus in verbo, roč. IV, 2015, č. 2, s. 7 - 15. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

One of the most interesting topics from Smith’s thinking is his thesis about harmony of self-interests with public interest. According to this thesis individual acting will be helpful to whole of society. How should we understand this claim, when Smith connects it with self-love and egoism? Paper shows that understanding of this claim needs wider ethical and social background. First, Smith’s political economy is narrowly connected with his theory of moral sentiments. Second, validity of the Smith’s thesis is dependent on existence of some institutions of society, especially justice and positive law. Only these assumptions give meaningful to this thesis.

LA TRADIZIONE CINEMATOGRAFICA CECOSLOVACCA

Luca De, Andrea
In: Motus in verbo, roč. IV, 2015, č. 2, s. 16 - 25. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

This work focuses on the cinematographic movement Czechoslovak nová vlna [new wave] and on its critical reading. Furthermore there is the analysis of the work of filmmakers Czechs and Slovaks as well as styles and poetics of a movement strongly characterized by the historical-political period in which it was born. This study was born thanks to an interview I made with the most important Slovak film critic, Václav Macek, Director of Slovenský filmový ústav [Slovak Film Institute] and professor of film history at the Vysoká škola múzických umení [Academy of Fine Arts] in Bratislava. The interview, was a living experience of the "new wave" in Czechoslovakia, explaining the birth and the development of the movement. There are various aspects of the Czechoslovak new wave, and topics that have been included in the article, so that it can be schematically illustrated in its key points: 1. the features of the Czechoslovak film tradition, especially in the 30s; Czechoslovak culture and society in the 60s, with references to the Prague Spring as a political and cultural scene that allowed the birth of a new course of national cinema; 2. an overview of the first wave of the Nová vlna, composed primarily by Ján Kadár, Elman Klos and Štefan Uher, considered by Václav Macek, the father of the movement; the influence of Italian neorealism, with reference to the work of Jaromil Jireš, Evald Schorm and Miloš Forman.

EDITINO MODRÉ OČKO A DVOJFAREBNÉ OČKO JAKUBKOVO

Odokienko Fodorová , Hana
In: Motus in verbo, roč. IV, 2015, č. 2, s. 26 - 30. ISSN 1339-0392

Abstract

The article deals with literary representations of child and childhood in Slovak literary fiction. It was written as part of VEGA project. Both analysed texts use a perspective of adult narrator through which we can unmask the functions, status and shift/deformation of a child hero. One of the texts was meant for child reader, the other was not. In one case the character of a child serves the purpose of demonstrating the social and cultural phenomena (Gejza Vámoš: Editino očko), in the other the child serves the purpose of ideology (Hana Zelinová: Jakubko). But, even though they belong to different literary platforms, the texts have something in common – they are both told by someone whose life was changed by a child with the same characteristic feature – colour of their eyes. The eyes and their colour bear a significant role in the texts and may thus lead to a number of – so far undiscovered – connotations. Another important common feature is, that the child in both texts doesn’t act on its own, but as a representative of someone other’s thoughts and feelings. In case of Jakubko, the child hero is the author’s tool of demonstrating ideology and its ideal of national resistance against fascism. In case of the Editino očko, through child the thoughts and feelings of the main character are uncovered.

The review tries to open the main questions of the subject and to shortly present the research and its methods elaborated by the author. The problem of gender and, not only, of creating names of professions in French is very interesting because there is no regular or uniform suffix to produce them.
